Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Portfolio Manager/Senior Analyst to join our Asia Equities team within a long-only, active asset management firm. This role focuses on Greater China technology sector and Taiwan equities, requiring deep industry expertise, strong fundamental research capabilities, and a proven ability to generate alpha. The successful candidate will contribute to portfolio construction, stock selection, and risk management, while also engaging with institutional and retail clients to communicate investment strategy and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundamental Research & Portfolio Management

  • Conduct deep-dive fundamental research on companies in Greater China technology and Taiwan markets.
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, perform valuation analysis, and assess industry dynamics.
  • Identify secular trends, competitive advantages, and catalysts for long-term value creation.
  • Manage positions within assigned sector and country coverage, ensuring alignment with portfolio objectives and risk parameters, working in a team-based culture.

Collaboration & Engagement

  • Present investment recommendations to the Asia & EM equities teams.
  • Engage with company management teams, industry experts, and sell-side analysts to gather insights.
  • Work closely with colleagues across region/globally to share ideas and coordinate strategies.

Client Interaction & Communication:

  • Able to represent the Asia Equities team in client meetings, presentations, and portfolio reviews for institutional and retail clients.
  • Clearly articulate investment philosophy, portfolio positioning, and performance drivers.
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide timely market updates and insights, when needed.
  • Collaborate with distribution and client service teams to support business development and retention efforts.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field CFA or MBA preferred.
  • Min 10 years of experience in a buy-side firm with no more than 5 years as a Portfolio Manager.
  • Proven track record of generating alpha through fundamental research and disciplined investment process.
  • Deep understanding of Greater China technology sector and Taiwan equity markets.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities fluency in Mandarin and English required.
  • Experience in client-facing roles, including presentations and portfolio reviews.
