Job Summary

The Placement & Project Manager drives employer partnerships and creates sustainable employment opportunities for mature workers aged 50 years and above. This role focuses on developing targeted industry sectors, engaging employers to build age-inclusive workplaces, and securing quality job opportunities aligned with mature job seekers capabilities and aspirations. The manager oversees projects and partnerships, collaborates with workforce agencies and internal teams, and supports job redesign and training initiatives to enhance employability and placement outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop priority industry sectors with strong potential for mature worker employment to expand job opportunities
  • Prospect, engage, and build relationships with new and existing employers to increase employer network and job mandates
  • Conduct employer outreach and business development activities to promote age-diverse and age-inclusive workplaces
  • Advocate the business value of hiring mature workers to influence employer hiring practices
  • Analyze emerging workforce trends and translate them into employment opportunities for mature job seekers
  • Secure new job mandates by understanding employer hiring requirements and matching suitable mature candidates to roles
  • Facilitate successful placements by coordinating between candidates and employers and addressing hiring barriers
  • Monitor hiring outcomes and maintain strong employer relationships to encourage repeat hiring
  • Collaborate with employers to review and recommend job redesign or work process improvements to better suit mature workers
  • Support employers in adopting age-friendly work practices and workplace accommodations to improve retention
  • Work closely with the Training team to identify skills gaps and emerging competency needs based on market intelligence
  • Provide input to inform programme and curriculum development for industry-relevant training pathways
  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, industry associations, community partners, and workforce stakeholders to strengthen the employment ecosystem
  • Represent the organisation at networking events, employer engagements, and industry forums to promote employment services
  • Maintain accurate records of employer engagement, job mandates, and placement outcomes for performance tracking
  • Prepare reports on employer engagement, sector trends, placement performance, and key performance indicators to inform strategy and decision-making

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Human Resource, Social Work, Project Management, or related discipline
  • At least 5 years experience in project management, workforce development, or programme management
  • Experience engaging employers and community partners to build partnerships
  • Strong stakeholder management skills demonstrated through successful collaboration with diverse partners
  • Excellent project coordination and reporting skills to ensure timely and accurate delivery of outcomes
  • Experience with grant-funded programmes is advantageous

Working days and hours

  • 5-day work week
  • 8:30am to 6pm
