Job Overview
As a Senior Industrial Engineer, you will act as a highly analytical Technical Project Manager with a strong Industrial Engineering background, leading the deployment of advanced assembly automation systems.
You will serve as the key technical bridge between internal cross-functional teams and external equipment suppliers, while owning the design and optimization of manufacturing systems. Your scope includes defining automation strategies, optimizing material flow, and developing feasibility-level factory layouts that maximize capacity, efficiency, and yield.
Main Responsibilities
1. Project Leadership & Industrialization
- Lead end-to-end development of global assembly platforms for High-Mix, Low-Volume (HMLV)and Low-Mix, High-Volume (LMHV), from concept through industrial deployment
- Define project roadmaps, milestones, and deliverables
- Structure and lead cross-functional teams (automation, manufacturing, logistics, validation)
- Act as the primary interface between internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Ensure project execution aligns with production requirements, timelines, and technical specifications
2. Strategic Technology Sourcing & Global Collaboration
- Assess and select advanced assembly and automation technologies to enhance productivity and minimize waste
- Evaluate and implement flexible feeding solutions, including bowl feeding, flex feeding, and robot-assisted handling
- Develop manufacturing strategies and production setups (including spring manufacturing, printing and packaging) aligned with business and operational objectives
- Act as the primary technical liaison between local teams, global stakeholders, and international suppliers
- Ensure clear and effective communication of technical documentation, reporting, and negotiations in English
3. Process Optimization, Factory Layout & Smart Manufacturing
- Design and develop factory layout scenarios for global deployment across multiple products and sites
- Engineer end-to-end material flow, from inbound logistics to finished goods, aligned with Industry 4.0 principles
- Integrate Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) to optimize internal logistics and minimize non-value-added activities
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize equipment footprint, ergonomics, and space utilization
- Identify and eliminate waste across manufacturing processes and Optimize operator efficiency, ergonomics, and workflow design
- Ensure systems are flexible, scalable, and adaptable to evolving production needs
4. Business Case & Cost Engineering
- Build and validate business cases for project deployment, including:
- CAPEX and OPEX analysis
- Unit cost modeling
- ROI and payback period evaluation
- Labor reduction and productivity improvements
- Support data-driven decision-making for automation investments.
5. Vendor Management & Equipment Verification
- Identify, select, and manage automation suppliers and system integrators
- Define technical specifications and oversee equipment development
- Ensure seamless integration of automation modules into a unified platform
- Manage the full equipment lifecycle from design reviews through FAT, SAT, and commissioning
- Lead on-site verification and ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820)
- Define and implement validation strategies (IQ/OQ/PQ, where applicable)
- Collaborate with quality teams to ensure complete documentation and regulatory complianc
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in automation engineering, industrial robotics, or managing complex manufacturing projects and new site implementation and capacity
- Industrial Engineering Expertise: Strong practical knowledge of lean manufacturing, time-and-motion studies, capacity modeling, and line balancing to ensure proposed vendor solutions operate at peak Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Layout & CAD Skills: Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) specifically for drafting factory floor plans, calculating equipment footprints, and simulating material flow constraints.
- Technical Breadth: Solid understanding of automated assembly principles, pneumatic/servo systems, and PLC/HMI architecture to effectively vet vendor proposals.
- Communication: Excellent written and spoken English. Must be capable of facilitating complex technical design reviews and driving accountability with external suppliers.
