Job Description
The Department of Psychiatry is inviting applications for part-time Research Assistant(s) / Junior Research Assistant(s) to support research projects involving home or in-lab sleep tests and assessments.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree (for Research Assistant(s)) OR completed secondary education or above, with Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B) OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English) Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, Attained or above in AL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects (for Junior Research Assistant(s)) (ii) a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently (iii) good communication and interpersonal skills (iv) fluency in Cantonese and a basic command of English and (v) a willingness to learn and follow research protocols.
The appointee(s) will assist in the implementation of sleep research projects and will be responsible for conducting sleep tests and assessments. Duties include (a) setting up and operating portable sleep monitoring equipment in home-based or laboratory setting (b) collecting and returning study equipment and data after completion of monitoring sessions (c) providing basic technical support during sleep assessment and (d) assisting with other research-related duties as assigned. The appointee(s) are required to work in evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Frequent travel to different districts across Hong Kong is required. On-the-job training on study procedures and equipment will be provided. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in healthcare, sleep studies, nursing, or related fields.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
