Job Description

The Department of Social Work invites applications for the position of part-time Research Assistant(s) /Junior Research Assistant(s) for Prof. Peng Manman, Mandy.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree (for Junior Research Assistant) or a Master%27s degree or equivalent qualification (for Research Assistant), preferably in Social Work, Social Policy, Psychology, Gerontology, Sociology, Public Health, Health Sciences, or other relevant disciplines (ii) solid skills in quantitative data analysis, with the preference of having relevant research experience (iii) an excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Cantonese) (iv) good communication and interpersonal skills (v) a strong sense of responsibility and self-discipline and (vi) the ability to work independently and in a team.

The appointee(s) will assist the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators in research projects on mental health issues, informal care, and family studies across different age groups. The appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) conducting literature review (b) collecting data in Hong Kong (c) analysing qualitative and quantitative data (d) drafting research manuscripts for publications and (e) performing other tasks as assigned.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for six months commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
