Job Description

  • Specialized Care Management: Manage and plan the comprehensive care of critically ill patients, including those requiring mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
  • Clinical Safety: Implement safety protocols for high-risk interventions and maintain a safe environment for patients with unstable physiological conditions.
  • Monitoring and Documentation: Provide accurate and detail documentation of vital signs, titration of medications, and neurological status assessment in clinical records.
  • Emergency Responses: Lead or assist in rapid response and code blue situation, ensuring adherence to advanced life support protocols.
  • Infection Control: Strictly follow hospital and international standards for infection control, specifically regarding ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP), Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infection (CLABSI), Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) etc.
  • Multidisciplinary Communication: Maintain constant, clear communication with intensivists, attending doctors, allied health, specialist ad family members regarding patient status and goals of care.
  • Supervision: Oversee junior nursing personnel and HCAs to ensure quality and safety in critical care delivery.
  • Family Support: Provide specialized health education and emotional support to relatives regarding critical illness and end-of-life care when applicable.
  • Others: Perform other duties assigned

Requirements

  • Holder of a valid Registered Nurse Practicing Certificate (Part 1) issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong
  • Degree in Nursing is highly preferred
  • Mandatory: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) bi-yearly recertification
  • Preferred with post-registration certificate in Critical Care Nursing or equivalent
  • Proven clinical competency in managing ICU-specific equipment (e.g. Ventilator, physiological monitor, infusion pumps)
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese Languages
  • Good customer service skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
