Job Description

Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care
Part-time Nurse(s)

The appointee(s) will assist in multiple clinical research projects in intensive care, clinical ethics and medical education conducted by the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Most research activities will take place at affiliated study sites, in different hospitals under the Hospital Authority.

The appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) co-ordinating research studies, including preparing and submitting ethics applications (b) obtaining patient informed consent and collecting blood samples (c) administering study medications (d) collecting data and conducting basic data analysis (e) recruiting and interviewing patients (f) providing research‑related health education and counselling and (g) performing other research‑related tasks as assigned. He/She is expected to comply with all relevant research guidelines and ethical frameworks. Regular travel to study sites is required.

Applicants should be/have (i) registered nurses in Hong Kong (ii) a valid Practising Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong (iii) a Diploma or above in Nursing (iv) strong interpersonal and communication skills, high self-motivation, and the ability to work both independently and as a team member with minimal supervision and (v) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Immediate availability is preferred. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
