Job Description

Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tuen Mun)

Major Duties:
(a)	To perform teaching duties including supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement
(b)	To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration
(c)	To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials and
(d)	To participate in projects and functions of the Language Centre, and the campus, where necessary.

Requirements:
(a)	(i)	A recognised degree in English Language / English Language and Literature / Language Studies (English) / Linguistics / Education (English) / English Communication / Translation (English) or professional qualfication, preferably with a post-graduate qualificationOR
	(ii)	A recognised degree in a non-relevant field, preferably with a post-graduate qualification AND a relevant English teaching qualification, such as Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma in Education (major in English), Teaching English as a Second Language or Teaching English as a Foreign Language or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA / Trinity CertTESOL and English-teaching certification recognised by TESL Canada) or English for Specific Purposes (ESP).A transcript with course details including the number of hours of instruction and practicum should be provided for consideration
(b)	At least 3 years relevant teaching and/or industry experience
(c)	Good communication, interpersonal, administrative, presentation skills
(d)	Good problem solving and time management skills and
(e)	Ability to work independently and in teams.

Notes:
(1)	Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
(2)	Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
(3)	The appointee(s) will be remunerated in hourly rate.
