Job Description

Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tuen Mun)

Major Duties:
(a)	To perform teaching duties including supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement
(b)	To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration
(c)	To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials and
(d)	To participate in projects and functions of the Language Centre, and the campus, where necessary.

Requirements:
(a)	(i)	A recognised degree in Chinese Language / Chinese Language and Literature / Language Studies (Chinese) / Chinese Linguistics / Education (Chinese) or professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualificationOR
	(ii)	A recognised degree in Translation / Teaching Chinese as a Second Language or as a Foreign Language.A transcript with course details should be provided for consideration
(b)	(i)	Grade B, Level 2 or above in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) - Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Commission on Language WorkOR
	(ii)	A pass in the Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (Putonghua) administered by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessments Authority (HKEAA) or equivalent
(c)	At least 3 years relevant teaching and/or industry experience
(d)	Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
(e)	Good problem-solving and time management skills and
(f)	Ability to work independently and in teams.

Notes:
(1)	Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
(2)	Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
(3)	The appointee(s) will be remunerated in hourly rate.
