Job Description

Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwai Chung)

Major Duties:
(a)	To perform teaching duties including supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement
(b)	To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration
(c)	To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials
(d)	To organise language enhancement activities and
(e)	To participate in projects and functions of the Language Centre.

Requirements:
(a)	(i)	A recognised degree in English Language / English Language and Literature / Language Studies (English) / Linguistics / Education (English) / English Communication / Translation (English) OR
	(ii)	A recognised degree in a non-relevant field AND a relevant English teaching qualification, such as Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma in Education (majoring in English), Teaching English as a Second Language or Teaching English as a Foreign Language or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA / Trinity CertTESOL and English-teaching certification recognized by TESL Canada) or English for Specific Purposes (ESP). A transcript with course details including the number of hours of instruction and practicum should be provided for consideration
(b)	At least 3 years relevant teaching experience
(c)	Good communication and presentation skills and
(d)	Preference will be given to candidates who are immediately available.

Notes:
(1)	Applicants with less relevant experience may be considered for the post of Part-time (Daytime / Evening) Assistant Lecturer at the rank of Teaching Associate.
(2)	Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic/professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic/professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
(3)	Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
(4)	The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
