To perform practical assessment duties for the Arboriculture Vocational Assessment (AVA)
(b)
To conduct the AVA's assessment including but not limited to assessment preparation and venue set up
(c)
To develop and prepare assessment questions and the respective marking scheme for AVA in Chinese, if necessary
(d)
To recommend suitable equipment / materials / reference readings necessary for AVA and
(e)
To attend meetings as required by the AVA working group.
Requirements:
(a)
A recognised higher diploma in the discipline of Arboriculture / Landscape / Botany / Biology / Forestry / Horticulture or equivalent
(b)
At least 3 years relevant work or teaching experience in related industry
(c)
Preferably with a qualification or certification offered by a professional institution or industry organisation in arboriculture, such as:
(i)
European Tree Technician of European Arboricultural Council
(ii)
Registered Consulting Arborist / Registered Practicing Arborist of Australia
(iii)
Technician / Professional Member of Arboricultural Association - UK
(iv)
Certified Arborist / Certified Tree Climber Specialist of International Society of Arboriculture or
(v)
The Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA) Accredited Arboricultural Practitioner
(d)
With good knowledge and practical experience in tree pruning and chainsaw operation and
(e)
Training experience in tree pruning and chainsaw operation would be an advantage.
Notes:
(1)
The post is at the rank of Instructor.
(2)
Candidates without the required academic qualifications stated in (a) above but possessing 8 years relevant work or teaching experience may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
(3)
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
(4)
Shortlisted applicants may be required to demonstrate the operation of a chainsaw.
