Under the direction of the Control Room Operator or Shift Supervisor, is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, and recording of plant functions throughout the plant.
Record and maintain data for instrumentation located throughout the plant
Monitor readings on instrumentation for variances from prescribed operating standards and procedures
Respond to variances as instructed by the Control Room Operator or Shift Supervisor by adjusting equipment to maintain proper operating parameters
Monitor plant facilities and equipment for safe performance of equipment and operation
Be familiar with, and adhere to, all site EHS regulations
Report unsafe conditions or hazards
Perform adjustments and minor maintenance corrections on equipment found operating beyond the prescribed setting or an unsafe condition (oil, air, heater, steam, leaks, piping).
Assist maintenance group in testing of equipment
Operate plant equipment (trucks, crane, forklift)
Perform chemical tests for the plant water and steam systems to maintain proper steam quality
Support maintenance activities on a part-time basis as required
Qualifications
College/academy education or equivalent;
Two years experience in a power plant operating environment;
Experience plotting data and maintaining operating records;
Prior experience on computer/microprocessor control system;
