Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care
Nursing OfficerThe appointee will be responsible for (a) leading a research nurse team in conducting multiple clinical research projects in anaesthesia, pain medicine and intensive care at Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin as well as various hospitals in Hong Kong (b) co-ordinating studies and take part in patient assessment, blood-taking, data collection, data documentation and analysis (c) organising recruitment and interviews of participants (d) providing health education and counselling to patients (e) complying with research guidelines (f) providing assistance at the clinic (g) conducting literature search and review and (h) performing other tasks as assigned.Applicants should be/have (i) registered nurses in Hong Kong (ii) a valid Practising Certificate issued by The Nursing Council of Hong Kong (iii) at least 6 years post-qualification work experience as a research nurse (iv) a Master's degree in a related field, preferably in clinical research (v) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (vi) strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (vii) the ability to multitask and work independently and (viii) a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation.Applicants must submit the following documents in the online application: (1) an up-to-date curriculum vitae and (2) copies of certificates showing that they have fulfilled the academic requirements and professional qualifications stated above, otherwise their applications will NOT be considered.Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.The University only accepts and considers applications submitted online for the post above via the CUHK career site. The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It is the territory's second-oldest university and was founded as a federation of three existing colleges – Chung Chi College, New Asia College and United College – the oldest of which was founded in 1949.
CUHK is organized into nine constituent colleges and eight academic faculties, and remains the only collegiate university in the territory. The university operates in both English and Chinese, although classes in most colleges are taught in English. Four Nobel laureates are associated with the university, and it is the only tertiary institution in Hong Kong with recipients of the Nobel Prize, Turing Award, Fields Medal and Veblen Prize sitting as faculty in residence.
