Job Description

NPI Manager

Responsibilities:

-Lead and manage full lifecycle New Product Introduction (NPI) and Transfer projects from customers.

-Supervise and develop the NPI Engineering team, including task assignment, coaching, performance evaluation, and career development.

-Define, implement, and track KPIs for the NPI team to drive accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

-Collaborate with Sales and Program Management to prepare technical quotations during the RFQ stage, including process feasibility and cost estimation.

-Oversee and validate technical documentation such as Work Instructions (WI), Bill of Materials (BOM), Control Plans, PFMEA, and process flow diagrams.

-Coordinate with cross-functional departments (R&D, Production, Quality, Procurement, and Logistics) to ensure alignment during product ramp-up.

-Lead trial builds, process validations, and production readiness reviews.

-Support customer audits, visits, and technical reviews, serving as the main technical contact.

-Monitor compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements.

-Analyze post-launch performance and oversee lessons learned sessions for continuous improvement.

-Represent the NPI team in management meetings and contribute to engineering strategy development.

-Develop and enhance internal processes, templates, and knowledge bases for efficient NPI execution.

Requirements:

-Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Optical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a related technical field.

-7+ years of experience in NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Development, with at least 2-3 years in a team leadership role.

-Proven ability to manage customer transfer projects, from document handover to full production ramp-up.

-Experience with optical or precision manufacturing like assembly.

-Deep knowledge of Core Tools: SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plan, 8D.

-Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, and related QMS systems.

-Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo) and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

-Fluent in English (spoken and written), with excellent technical communication skills.
