Job Summary
The IT Manager oversees daily operations, strategic planning, and security of the hotel's technology infrastructure to ensure seamless system performance and enhance guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain core hospitality systems including Property Management System (PMS), Point of Sale (POS), and Guest Management platforms to support hotel operations.
- Oversee guest-facing technologies such as IPTV, electronic keycard systems, and in-room automation to ensure optimal guest service.
- Provide escalating technical support to hotel associates and guests, minimizing downtime of critical services.
- Maintain and standardize network architecture to deliver robust, high-speed, and secure connectivity for corporate LAN and guest Wi-Fi networks.
- Monitor server and application performance and manage cloud or on-premise data storage solutions to ensure system reliability.
- Plan and execute hardware and software upgrades with minimal disruption to 24/7 hotel operations.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies, data privacy regulations, and corporate IT governance standards to protect hotel data and systems.
- Lead IT deployments for new projects aligned with corporate guidelines to support business growth and innovation.
- Execute and maintain IT disaster recovery and business continuity procedures according to hotel group frameworks.
- Prepare and manage the annual IT budget, including drafting justifications and submitting CAPEX/OPEX requests for technology initiatives.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met to optimize technology investments.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that drive revenue, improve operational flow, or enhance guest satisfaction.
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with at least 1 year in a similar IT management role.
- Strong working knowledge of hotel-specific platforms such as Opera, Simphony, or similar POS/PMS systems.
- Solid understanding of network infrastructure, cybersecurity best practices, and IT compliance standards.
- Excellent project management and troubleshooting skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
