The role plays a key part in driving new product development from concept through production while collaborating with global suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware or electronics product development.
- At least 3 years of project management experience within an R&D or manufacturing environment.
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of hardware architecture.
- Knowledge of PCB design and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with electronic components and manufacturing test procedures.
- Solid understanding of new product development and mass production processes.
Project Management Skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and schedules simultaneously.
- Experience with both Waterfall and Agile/Scrum project management methodologies.
Language Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Japanese language proficiency is considered a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Vendor & Supply Chain Management
- Collaborate with external vendors, component suppliers, and Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) partners.
- Coordinate production schedules and ensure timely material and component delivery.
- Maintain a stable and efficient supply chain throughout the product development process.
- Project Risk Management
- Identify potential technical, schedule, and supply chain risks at an early stage.
- Develop and execute effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress to ensure milestones and delivery timelines are achieved.
- Regulatory Compliance & Product Certification
- Partner with the Japan engineering team to ensure products comply with international regulatory and quality standards, including:
- Support certification activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Cross-Functional Project Leadership
- Work closely with Hardware, Mechanical, Firmware/Software, and Quality Assurance teams on a daily basis.
- Coordinate cross-functional resources to drive project execution.
- Ensure technical deliverables align with project milestones and product launch schedules.
