We are a leading global brand dedicated to creating smart, helpful, and bold baby gear since 2007. Our business has continued to grow exponentially, and we are looking for an experienced Multilingual Layout Manager (m/f/d) to lead a team of graphic artists focused on layout and typesetting work.
This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in creating clean, well-structured multilingual layouts, with an understanding of line breaks, text flow, spacing, and visual consistency across different languages. The Multilingual Layout Manager will ensure quality, workflow efficiency, and best practices in multilingual graphic production.
What you'll do
1. Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of graphic artists.
- Manage workload planning, task allocation, and workflow optimization.
- Establish and maintain quality standards; provide hands-on guidance for complex layout challenges.
2. Layout & Typesetting (Multilingual Production)
- Oversee the end-to-end layout/typesetting process for multilingual graphic materials.
- Review and ensure layout accuracy, readability, and visual alignment across languages.
- Apply best practices in line breaks, spacing, typography, and formatting for different language families.
- Adapt typography and layouts to accommodate text expansion/contraction in various languages.
3. Localization & Cross-functional Coordination
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners and external vendors (e.g., translation agencies).
- Coordinate localization workflows and ensure timely project delivery across teams.
- Use design and localization tools to manage assets, maintain brand guidelines, and support translators with visual context.
- Oversee file management, translation memory, glossaries, and style guides to ensure consistency in terminology and layout.
4. Quality Assurance
- Perform visual QA checks to ensure localized graphic elements are accurate, consistent, and aligned with brand standards.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field
- 5+ years of experience in technical communications, writing and graphic design.
- Experience in publishing, translation/localization agencies, or similar industries strongly preferred.
- Strong Mandarin and English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or similar tools.
- Familiarity with localization workflows and TMS/CAT tools (e.g., Trados, Smartcat).
- Strong understanding of multilingual layout principles (e.g., line breaking, typography, content adaptation).
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, ensuring projects deadlines are met.
- Experience collaborating with translation or localization vendors.
- Strong project management, communication, and work cross-functionally gather project requirements, product information, and assignment approvals.
- Proven leadership or people management experience.
