Purpose of the Role:
Medical Manager is the leader in local Medical Affairs team, with a various mix of managerial and technical responsibilities depends on market environment and status of the business.
The role needs to collaborate with regional Medical Affairs leaders and country ZP Commercialization leadership team in building and enhancing capability and operation of local Medical Affairs, carriers people management responsibility in coaching and managing performance of junior team members, and contributes to overarching strategy in achieving country ZP Commercialization business objectives. Depends on therapeutic categories and products prioritization, the Medical Manager may also require to carry primary Medical Affairs responsibilities in shaping medical component of brand strategies, planning and execute medical projects, and support internal and external key stakeholders with medical/ scientific expertise.
What Youll Do :
(A) Medical Affairs Operation, Governance and Competence
- Establish, streamline, and maintain Medical Affairs Operation (including but not limited to, reporting of medical interactions, medical event engagement, medical information handling) and Governance processes (including but not limited to, HCP FMV tiering assessment, event review and approval, material review and approval)
- Verify that projects and tasks are conducted according to good clinical practice (GCP), standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other compliance standards
- Identify core competence of local Medical Affairs according business needs and employee development goals. Seek resource to build competence to achieve personal and organizational success.
(B) Medical Affairs Leadership
- Lead, coach and motivate the team including appropriate development plans.
- Conduct performance setting with employees to set goal in line with organization objectives as well as annual performance review. Periodically review performance with employees to ensure progresses against goals and to make calibration according to business needs
- Act as the compensation planner in local medical team
- Actively participating in meetings with local commercialization management and attending external meetings and congresses on behalf of the company
(C) Product and Project Management
- Act as a scientific expert for providing scientific and medical supports to internal and external stakeholders (Government sectors, patient advocacy groups, key medical organizations) in the key therapeutic categories
- Build and maintain scientific trust-based relationships with KOLs
- Build understanding and value to clinical practice of ZP Commercialization products aligned with scientific objectives.
- Work closely with the cross-functional brand teams in developing a strategic direction for the brands and develop an MSL strategic and tactical plan in collaboration with the medical team
- Work with HCPs in scientific activities to advance disease understanding, as identified in strategic brand planning, such as:
- Identify potential speakers and train speakers as appropriate
- Interact in the field with the medical community in the context of various medical projects, such as clinical trials, investigator-sponsored studies (ISS), scientific exchange meetings
- Provide recommendations for regional advisory board participants and lead national advisory boards where there are clear medical needs
- Keep abreast with latest scientific knowledge and developments in the therapeutic area (TA)-related management domain and attend TA scientific congresses to gather contextualized information on treatment landscape and new developments.
- Provide scientific information and to support medical/ scientific information needs of Healthcare Professionals (HCPs)
- Conduct appropriate Zuellig staff training & development on information regarding current clinical data and emerging trends in medical practice within therapeutic categories
(D) Lead team to develop the medical MKTG plan and contribute in annual brand planning; Meanwhile, lead the team to support the medical assessment of the new business development.
What will make you successful:
Must-Have:
- Masters degree in Medical/Life Science/Pharmacy
- A background in commercial/medical roles in the pharmaceutical industry is essential, at least over 5 years experience in medical field, including 1 year above leadership experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel) Proficiency in computer literacy including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint or other related applications efficiently to make scientific presentation and business communication
- English Proficiency : Ability in verbal and written communications without major barrier in achieving business objectives
- Critical appraisal of evidence : Understanding of basic clinical research types and principles, and how to assess and interpret evidence from medical literatures
- Knowledge about industry practice : Strong scientific, medical, and technical skills in Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance, and/or Medical Information

- PhD degree in Medical/Life Science/Pharmacy
- 3 years above leadership experience
