Role Overview
We are seeking a Materials Program Manager (MPM) to join the supply chain team supporting an autonomous vehicle program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials planning, manual MRP, and production scheduling using advanced Excel or Google Sheets tools. This is a hands-on role that requires detailed planning, coordination with vendors, and proactive material management to support production readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual demand and production planning using Excel or Google Sheets (no ERP or SAP system).
- Generate and maintain Clear to Build (CTB) or shortage reports, analyzing component availability against build plans.
- Evaluate manufacturing build plans against inventory and supply data to determine replenishment needs.
- Retrieve supplier quotes, create and manage purchase orders (POs), and track deliveries.
- Ensure timely material availability to meet production schedules.
- Monitor and mitigate excess and obsolescence risks.
- Review and interpret Bill of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy and readiness.
- Collaborate with suppliers, buyers, and engineering teams to support build activities.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Clear To Build (CTB) or shortage reports and their role in MRP processes.
- Proven experience in manual demand planning, manual production planning, and manual MRP execution.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, including use of complex formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, SUMIF, COUNTIF, IFERROR, INDEX, MATCH, MIN).
- Solid experience in a Materials PM, Buyer/Planner, or Materials Planner role.
- Ability to read and manage BOMs and maintain inventory accuracy.
- In-depth knowledge of MRP system functionality.
- Understanding of PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) components.
Nice to Have
- Technical experience with Test Fixtures.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
