Job Description

Established in 1987 and headquartered in Taiwan, TSMC pioneered the pure-play foundry business model with an exclusive focus on manufacturing its customers products. As of 2024, TSMC serves more than 500 customers and manufactures over 11,000 products for high-performance computing, smartphones, the Internet of Things (IoT), automotive, and digital consumer electronics. It is the world's largest provider of logic ICs, with an annual capacity of 16 million 12-inch equivalent wafers. TSMC operates fabs in Taiwan as well as manufacturing subsidiaries in Washington State, Japan and China, and the Company began construction on a specialty technology fab in Dresden, Germany, in 2024. In Arizona, TSMC is building three fabs, with the first starting 4nm production in 2025, the second by 2028, and the third by the end of the decade.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Advanced Process Engineer to drive the development of next-generation semiconductor technology. Key Contribution: As a core member of our team, you will be responsible for the entire process lifecycle, from prototyping to mass production, ensuring smooth product introduction and continuous optimization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges, and through continuous improvement initiatives, enhance tool reliability and process stability, ultimately delivering industry-leading solutions for flash memory and logic products.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Mask Process Expertise: Responsible for the planning, development, introduction, and maintenance of mask processes, ensuring adherence to the strictest technical requirements and quality standards.

2. New Process Introduction Pioneer: Lead and coordinate the pilot run for next-generation processes, ensuring smooth process transfer and readiness for mass production.

3. Equipment Reliability Enhancement: Continuously evaluate and improve the reliability and stability of process tools to maximize production efficiency and minimize downtime.

4. Technology Transfer & Optimization: Responsible for advanced technology transfer and driving Continuous Improvement Plans (CIP) to enhance process performance and yield.

5. Technical Solution Provider: Possess a strong technical background and problem-solving capabilities to develop and sustain advanced process technologies for flash memory and logic products.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration Expert: Work closely with internal teams, including device, integration, yield, lithography, and external suppliers, to drive leading-edge integrated module development, control, and improvements.

7. Daily Operations & Mentorship: Responsible for sustaining ownership, including day-to-day operations, equipment troubleshooting, and mentoring technicians to ensure smooth production line operation.

Job Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or above in an engineering and scientific field, such as Materials Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Optics.

2. Solid technical understanding of IC processing equipment, integrated flow, chemistry, and physics.

3. Exhibit good and open communication skills, be able to work within cross-functional teams, including internal and external partners.

4. Fluent in English (Equivalent to a TOEIC score of 500 or above).

5. Strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE) principles.

6. Flexibility in changing priorities and responsibilities to support business needs.

7. Hands-on participation and a strong sense of ownership.

8. Willingness to make frequent fab presence.
