Job Description

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Project Manager. The Manufacturing Product Manager (MPM) will have technical project management responsibility for Supply Chain activity as a part of New Product Introduction (NPI) and product lifecycle management. In their role, the MPM is the Supply Chain representative into the hardware Program Team, helping to drive new product definition, structure, introduction schedules, and all other Supply Chain activities in preparation for the General Availability (GA) ramp. In the post GA production period, they continue to support product lifecycle activities, addressing issues as they arise. As the product approaches end of production, the MPM is involved in developing the End of Production (EOP) plans with the Program Management team, driving numerous Last Time Buy Decisions as technology ages and approaches the transfer to Service.

In their role, the MPM works closely with our TGCS worldwide technical supply chain management teams (QE, ME, TE) as well as product manufacturing Tier 2 suppliers and fulfillment centers ensuring Supply Chain deliverables are met. They interface directly with development, test, procurement, planning, sales, operations, service, suppliers, and the fulfillment centers throughout the life of the product and communicate program/project status up through executive management as necessary.

Areas Of Expertise & Special Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering / computer science field with 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Wide-ranging experience/background in Supply Chain management delivering technology-related products or services
  • Demonstrated ability to be involved with multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic high-tech environment with team members dispersed across multiple countries and time zones
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dynamic and effective virtual meeting facilitation skills through phone and internet
  • Ability to bring different groups of people together to collaborate in a community setting
  • Experience working in a cross-functional, collaborative environment
  • Possess a level of comfort in working on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
  • Aptitude for recommending and implementing changes to practices/procedures that affect the immediate organization.
  • Excellent risk and change management skills
  • Familiarity with different project management methodologies, tools, and defect tracking systems.
  • Adept with Microsoft Office tools
  • Knowledge of retail systems products
  • Preferred knowledge in retail, banking or hospitality industries
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Demand Flow.
  • PMI or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities:

1. Represent the supply chain on the product portfolio teams with accountability in supporting New Product Introduction from Concept to GA as well as full life cycle management.

  • Lead Supply Chain Engineering team in preparation of requirement documentation and supplier evaluation during the RFQ process.
  • Develop WW Manufacturing Plan and establishes schedule commits
  • Provide deliverables for NPI checkpoints and product team reviews
  • Ensure Mfg. readiness and technical capability during new product introduction

2. Lead cross organizational /WW teams in New Product Introduction process and life cycle and EOL activities. The cross organizational team can include representatives from supply/demand planning, inventory planning and management, manufacturing, quality, test, ECAT, power engineering, procurement and fulfillment operations.

  • Manage the Supply Chain NPI activity
  • Interlock with manufacturing suppliers and fulfillment centers.
  • Run Supply Chain Team meetings
  • Handle Product Life Cycle issues and problems
  • Lead assessment and approvals for all LTB activity
  • Participate and drive EOL activity as products transfer to Service

3. Communicate status/direction/recommendations internally with executives, product and program managers, development, sales, operations, control towers and externally with our fulfillment centers and supply chain partners.

4. Execute and audit the process through several checklists from NPI to product EOL.

5. Mentors others and grows leadership skills across the practice

6. Perform other related duties as assigned.
