A newly established innovation centre in Singapore's financial sector is seeking a founding Managing Director to lead its build-out and early growth. This is an opportunity to build an organisation from the ground up, shaping its strategy, team and growth from day one.
Key responsibilities
- Shape and execute strategic direction, bringing recommendations to the board as the business scales
- Identify and prioritise innovation opportunities, potentially spanning artificial intelligence, digital assets and other emerging technology areas
- Build and lead a founding team, establishing the centre's operating model and culture from scratch
- Build relationships with financial institutions and technology partners to bring new solutions to market
- Apply commercial rigour to resourcing and investment decisions, with a mandate to build new revenue streams
- Act as the centre's public face, building its profile and reputation in the market
What we're looking for
- Proven innovation, digital transformation or technology leadership experience within a financial institution
- A track record of execution, not just strategy
- Strong self-starter capability: spotting opportunities, building buy-in, driving initiatives independently
- Commercial acumen in prioritising investment and demonstrating return
- Comfort operating in a first-year, start-up environment
- Experience building or scaling a team is an advantage
