Job Description

The applicant must possess
  1. a recognised degree, preferably in construction safety, engineering, construction or other related disciplines
  2. qualification as a Registered Safety Officer (RSO) is mandatory
  3. a minimum of 10 years postqualification experience in construction safety, with a strong track record in developing, leading and implementing safety strategies, programmes and improvement initiatives at the corporate or industry level
  4. solid knowledge of safety management systems, statutory requirements and local construction practices
  5. possess working knowledge of generative AI and able to apply AI tools in safety management and strategic tasks
  6. excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage, influence and collaborate effectively with government departments, industry partners and major stakeholders
  7. strong leadership, planning and projectmanagement capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently under tight timelines and
  8. a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

Duties include
  1. to oversee and review safety management practices, conduct risk assessments and provide strategic recommendations for improvement
  2. to plan, coordinate and manage safetyrelated research, studies, guidelines, codes of practice and other industry documents to enhance construction safety in Hong Kong
  3. to supervise and monitor research projects related to construction safety, including evaluation of industry needs and emerging technologies
  4. to lead engagement with government departments, industry stakeholders and professional bodies to promote safety best practices and support the implementation of industrywide safety initiatives
  5. to provide secretariat support to the CIC, its committees and subcommittees, task forces and ad hoc working groups, including preparing discussion papers, presentations and minutes
  6. to plan and oversee the organisation of events, promotional campaigns and industry programmes related to construction safety
  7. to liaise with industry stakeholders to understand their needs and concerns, and to formulate initiatives and action plans to elevate construction safety standards and
  8. to carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.
