Operations Shared Services (OSS) drives operations performance standards, service excellence, and consistency across the Group and our Global Service Centres (GSCs). This central team oversees areas such as business intelligence, cost management, reporting, billing and regulatory compliance. In addition, through its GSC Capabilities team, they are responsible for enterprise-wide workforce management, location strategy, future skills, and group common services (AI, automation, and other strategic initiatives).

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Manager Protective Security Advisory.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Develop and deliver specialist protective security advice to Group businesses, functions and projects
  • Undertake market level security threat assessments and continuously monitor local threats
  • Undertake market level risk and control assessments under HSBC's non-financial risk framework. Coordinate and undertake protective security risk assessments, site security control surveys and control reviews
  • Advise on and conduct third party engagement security assessments. Plan, conduct and report on continuous monitoring for key security controls
  • Contribute to protective security strategy development, business planning, governance, budgeting and cost control. Identify, develop and deliver continuous improvement initiatives in support of Protective Security
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with relevant businesses, teams, and support providers to achieve security and other required outcomes
  • Plan and conduct liaison with local law enforcement, government agencies and external service providers to monitor risk and coordinate activities. Act as delegate or provide backfill for other PS management team roles when required
  • Provide support to other PS teams, sites and incidents as required
Requirements

To be successful you will need:

  • Relevant experience including security advice, consultancy and/or risk management
  • Demonstrated knowledge in areas such as physical security, security technology, emergency management, risk management and project management
  • Ability to assess security threat, risk, vulnerability and controls, and the ability to apply those assessments through delivery of security advice and planning, while pragmatically balancing the needs of the business
  • Experience in influencing teams and stakeholders to achieve objectives. Ability to communicate and collaborate on security and risk issues with a range of stakeholders, customers, agencies at senior and working levels
  • Sound judgement and ability to provide advice and make decisions under pressure and consistent with established policy, procedures and the local risk context. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with high ethical standards
  • Ability to lead the review of risks, controls and processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies and then deliver improvement actions. Ability to apply technology and use data to solve problems and manage risks
  • Good English language skills both written and verbal. Cantonese language skills would be an advantage. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Be available to respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis (subject to reasonable working conditions and relevant rosters)
