The applicant must possess
- a recognized degree in law, with legal profession qualification in Hong Kong or an English-speaking common law jurisdiction
- at least 10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in top-tier law firm, multinational company or public organizations/statutory bodies
- strong corporate/commercial experience with in-depth knowledge in areas such as corporate/commercial law, intellectual property, data privacy and technology. Expertise in advising on statutory functions and powers for regulatory authorities or law enforcement agencies and knowledge of PRC laws would be an advantage
- strong sense of compliance, by ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation and guiding staff to uphold these standards
- strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver timely and effective legal solutions
- excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment with strong client relationship skills
- skills in AI and data analytics for strategic planning and decision-making would be an advantage and
- strong legal drafting abilities, excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

Duties include
- to provide legal counsel and support to the Construction Industry Council (CIC) business units, ensuring compliance with the Construction Industry Council Ordinance, related regulations, corporate policies, and legal requirements
- to draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements and other legal documents, as well as formulate and update policies, rules, regulations and guidelines
- to collaborate with business units to ensure legal compliance across the organization, safeguarding CIC's internal and external reputation and mitigating legal and regulatory risks
- to participate in major business negotiations and offer professional legal support and advice for the daily operations of the CIC, including but not limited to corporate/commercial matters, industry regulations, data privacy, technology, competition laws and intellectual property protection
- to conduct legal training sessions for internal staff and
- to carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.
