Job Description

Global High-Net-Worth (Global HNW) is a team responsible for the sourcing and onboarding of global HNW customers to the Enterprise through a global distribution and operations team. They will also play a role in the onboarding of the customer within the chosen Business Unit. Our focus will be to ensure we are a future-ready organization that provides the global customer a white-glove experience expected by our distribution partners and their private bank customers, and one that works in harmony with the Business Units and their other channels.

Manulife is a leader in the Global High-Net-Worth (Global HNW) individual life insurance market. The Manager reports to the Head of Global HNW, Hong Kong Distribution team with dual reporting into the Head of Global HNW Distribution Enablement and is a member of the sales and distribution team. This individual should have familiarity with life insurance products and marketing concepts. The primary focus is the ability to identify, develop and promote marketing/sales opportunities and educational material along with building strong relationships with Global HNW distributors as well as internal support teams all to generate sales for Global HNW.

The successful candidate will be required to operate with dexterity, demonstrating a strong focus in driving outcomes as well as being flexible and willing to play an active, behind-the-scenes role. This role offers first-hand experience in working with sales and marketing colleagues across global businesses. The successful candidate must be able to excel under pressure with an eagerness to learn, contribute, and grow, analyze sales and operational data to track performance and facilitate sales.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide internal sales and marketing support to Global HNW distribution team members

  • Motivate Distributors to sell Global HNW solutions via participation in persuasive virtual and in-person sales presentations, design marketing initiatives and provide top tier responsiveness to Distributor inquiries

  • Assist in the development of key marketing strategies along with educational materials and persuasive sales presentations

  • Maintain good records and generate sales reports for management. Use data to help identify opportunities

  • Effectively position Global HNW products within the landscape of competitors and run supporting illustrations as required. Be the product expert providing support to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Educate and provide training to Distributors on Global HNW products, underwriting and processes

  • Manage administration of contact management database - update contacts, accounts and maintain a current database working in conjunction with external distributors and internal Manulife departments

  • Website maintenance including the review of registrations, management of inquiries and technical questions, and maintaining an ongoin g website review of registered users for quarterly audits

  • Respond to inquiries from general email inboxes in a timely manner

  • Work closely with distribution and data analytics team to build out and maintain effective reporting

  • Consistently be proactive with key personnel to build, enhance, and maintain relationships

  • Help to cross promote Manulife solutions through Global HNW by identifying, implementing, and executing sales and marketing initiatives aimed to retain business within the Manulife enterprise

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Global HNW distribution teams as well as internal personnel who support the Global HNW Life business

  • Work closely with all internal departments (Product, Marketing, Underwriting, Legal, Case Management, Client Due Diligence, Service, Compliance) to further drive sales and marketing initiatives while also observing ways Manulife Global HNW can advance and improve operational processes and procedures. Ensure a smooth new business process from pre-assessment to policy issuance.

  • Be a key, reliable and trusted resource as well as Manulife brand ambassador to all contracted Distributors including their sales support staff, sales consultants, and senior management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Life Insurance product knowledge and case design techniques

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and insurance designation preferred

  • Life Insurance sales expertise and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships

  • Creative presentation and excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening)

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Ability to work well with internal personnel in various locations

  • Great listening/retention skills/data analytics

  • Strong software technical skills (Webinars, full Microsoft Office Suite of products, etc.)

  • Some Domestic and International Travel Required
