Applications are invited for appointment as Manager/ Executive (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II/ Executive Officer) at the Development & Alumni Affairs Office (DAAO) (Ref.: 535014) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).

At DAAO, we drive meaningful engagement with alumni, donors and partners through compelling programmes, signature events and strategic initiatives that advance the University's mission. We are looking for individuals with a strong track record in event and project management who thrive on excellence, creativity and execution.

Key Responsibilities

The appointee will play a key role in planning and delivering impactful projects and events, including high-level institutional initiatives such as anniversaries, seminars, fireside chats, media campaigns and other strategic engagement activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, coordinating and delivering projects and events from concept to completion
  • Managing and enhancing the creative development process of events and projects, from initial planning through to final execution
  • Overseeing event logistics, production coordination, venue liaison, vendor management, timelines and budgets
  • Leading on-site event operations to ensure smooth, professional and high-quality delivery
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered effectively, on time and to a high standard and
  • Contributing ideas and solutions in a collaborative and results-driven environment.

Requirements

The appointee should possess:

  • A good university degree with at least5-6 years relevant experience
  • Proven experience in event management, event production, project management or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience in managing external vendors, agencies and production teams
  • Strong budgeting, resource planning and cost control skills
  • Excellent organisational and project management capabilities, with strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining quality and professionalism
  • A proactive, resourceful and hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to work independently with initiative, while also thriving as a collaborative team player
  • Experience in stage management and/or production would be an advantage
  • Proactive, passionate and committed to excellence, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and
  • Good command of written and spokenEnglish and/or Chinese.

What We Offer

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
