Job Description

The applicant must possess
  1. a recognised degree is required, degree in business administration, social sciences, counselling, marketing or communications is preferred
  2. a minimum of 10 years post-qualification work experience in career support, project and event management, experience in education institution / public sector is preferred
  3. knowledge and experience in construction or engineering will be a distinct advantage
  4. strong organisational, communication and multitasking skills
  5. able to work effectively under pressure, with a strong commitment to meeting tight deadlines and key targets
  6. excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
  7. a high level of integrity and a sense of accountability and
  8. excellent interpersonal skills.

Duties include
  1. to oversee the daily operations of the Career Support Services department, ensuring effective provision of career guidance, counselling, and placement support to graduates of HKIC full-time training courses
  2. to formulate and implement strategies for career guidance, job matching, and placement services for full-time and short-course graduates, while actively pursuing and achieving annual employment and apprentices targets
  3. to build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with construction industry employers, contractors, and other stakeholders to generate job and internship opportunities, and lead the implementation of the Approved Technical Talents Training Programmes and the On-the-job Skill Consolidation Subsidy Scheme
  4. to develop and execute comprehensive alumni engagement strategies, including proposing and organising activities and benefits, enhancing communication channels with alumni, and supporting the effective operation of the alumni association
  5. to organise career-related events (e.g., job fairs, industry sharing sessions, mentorship activities, alumni events)
  6. to administer various subsidy schemes for employers and apprentices, while monitoring implementation, ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards and
  7. to carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.
