About The Role
As the Manager Direct Retail, you will lead the endtoend gotomarket and operational strategy for PMI's Direct Retail channel across Taiwan. You will ensure flawless consumer experience delivery, execution excellence, vendor and partner management, and continuous capability building within your team and our wider retail ecosystem.
You will work closely with Direct Retail business partners, national commercial teams, and crossfunctional stakeholders to deploy our smokefree future (SFP) strategy, maximize retail performance, and strengthen our presence across Taiwan.
This role is ideal for a passionate retail leader with experience in hightraffic, consumerfacing environments who thrives in a fastpaced, transformational setting.
What You'll Be Doing
Retail Strategy & Consumer Experience
- Design and deploy the endtoend Direct Retail gotomarket strategy, ensuring all initiatives are built around consumer needs and aligned with PMI's SFP strategy.
- Continuously enhance service quality and retail execution excellence across all retail locations.
Partner Collaboration & Performance Management
- Collaborate closely with Direct Retail business partners to maximize commercial outcomes and ensure alignment with PMI's national strategy.
- Support partners through capability building, performance reviews, operational feedback, and deployment of commercial mechanics (pricing, incentives, visuals, promotions).
Operational Excellence & Execution Audit
- Oversee execution of all retail support activities and conduct regular audits on appearance, operations, compliance, and execution gaps.
- Ensure timely reporting, rapid problemsolving, and implementation of corrective actions.
Territory & Infrastructure Optimization
- Assess retail channel performance across Taiwan and propose opportunities to optimize retail deployment and productivity.
- Integrate NPS feedback and other consumer insights into continuous improvement plans.
Budget Ownership
- Manage the national Direct Retail budget with strong ROI discipline.
- Allocate resources effectively and adapt plans based on business dynamics.
People Leadership & Capability Building
- Develop and lead a highperforming retail operations team.
- Drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Integrity, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure full adherence to PMI policies, marketing guidelines, and local regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety, responsibility, and ethical behavior across all retail operations.
Who We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of FMCG experience in commercial, retail, or consumerfacing roles.
- At least 2 years of team leadership or project leadership experience.
- Handson retail operations, channel management, or consumer engagement experience in Taiwan.
- Strong business acumen with experience managing KPIs, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Skilled in stakeholder management, partner collaboration, and operational improvement.
- Strong analytical ability, structured communication, and datadriven decision making.
- Proficient in MS Office; fluent in English and Mandarin.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
