The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) is tasked to undertake, encourage, promote and facilitate urban renewal of Hong Kong in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance and the Urban Renewal Strategy published by the Government. The URA adopts a comprehensive and holistic approach by ways of its two core businesses i.e. redevelopment and rehabilitation, as well as preservation, revitalisation and retrofitting, for creating a sustainable and quality living environment for the people of Hong Kong.
Responsibilities:
To assist in supervising and monitoring the execution of redevelopment projects
To supervise the processing of reservation and disposal of rehousing flats, and approve re-housing and cash compensation offers and tenancy renewal for tenants in re-housing blocks
To supervise the property management, tenancy and rental administration of acquired and resumed properties and re-housing blocks
To supervise legal formalities for property acquisition and negotiate with various stakeholders on complex cases
To assist in organising and supervising the operations for physical eviction of unsettled occupiers
To communicate with concerned groups, assistants of District Council Members, social service teams, Government departments, etc.
To procure and manage consultants and ser vice providers
To supervise data compilation and report analysis for assessment of compensation and re-housing demand, budgeting, and policy and procedural reviews
To support strategic policy review and make decisions on special cases
Requirements:
Degree holder in surveying, building / housing / property management, or related discipline with not less than 8 years of relevant working experience
Recognised relevant professional qualification(s), e.g. MHKIS, MRICS, MHKIH, CIHM, or equivalent, with not less than 6 years of post-professional qualification experience
Good communication skills in Chinese and English, proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage
Strong leadership skill, high integrity and high degree of initiative
Possession of a valid Estate Agent Licence will be an advantage
Knowledge and experience in legal formalities in property sale and purchase
Familiarity with Conveyancing and Property Ordinance, Land Resumption Ordinance, Landlord and Tenant (Consolidation) Ordinance, and Building Management Ordinance
The appointment will be made on a 3-year fixed-term contract, which may be renewable subject to appointee's performance, the Authority's business needs, and other relevant factors.
