The Role

In Systems Management at Kyndryl, you will be critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our customers IT infrastructure. You'll be the mastermind behind maintaining and optimizing their systems, ensuring they're always running at peak performance.

Not only will you be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure, but you'll also have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions that will shape the future of the industry. You'll be at the forefront of new service preparation and change management processes, constantly learning and growing your technical expertise to ensure the best outcomes for our customers.

Your technical prowess will be put to the test as you troubleshoot critical customer situations and provide timely solutions to keep their systems secure, reliable, and efficient. You'll be the go-to expert for sizing and optimizing systems, ensuring our customers business performance is always world-class.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain IBM z/OS and related program products.
  • Utilize tools such as TSO, SDSF, RACF, SMPE, RMM, HSM, and JES2.
  • Support system maintenance activities, including applying patches and upgrades to systems and accompanying storage systems and program products.
  • Monitor system performance and availability help troubleshoot system and application issues.
  • Assist in automating and scripting routine tasks using REXX, CLIST, or JCL.
  • Document system configuration, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Follow change management and incident response procedures.
  • Execute disaster recovery exercises.
  • Perform upgrades of the mainframe and related storage systems.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of z/OS networking and communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with mainframe storage management and virtualization.
  • Understanding of mainframe security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work with mainframe database management systems such as DB2.
  • Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in mainframe system engineering or a related role.
  • Basic knowledge of IBM z/OS and related program products.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
