Our client is a leading Global Banking institution with a well-established investment banking franchise across Asia Pacific. As part of its continued growth, the bank is seeking a high-calibre Vice President to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) M&A team in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Execution
- Lead execution of buy-side, sell-side, mergers, strategic investments, joint ventures and capital raising transactions across the FIG sector.
- Manage all aspects of transaction processes, including valuation analysis, financial modelling, due diligence coordination, transaction structuring and documentation.
- Oversee preparation of marketing materials, board presentations, information memoranda, management presentations and transaction-related documentation.
- Coordinate workstreams involving clients, legal advisers, accountants, regulators and financing providers.
- Drive transaction timelines and ensure successful completion of mandates.
Client Coverage & Origination
- Support senior bankers in originating advisory opportunities across APAC financial institutions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers including CEOs, CFOs, founders, boards and financial sponsors.
- Identify strategic opportunities arising from sector consolidation, digital transformation, regulatory change and cross-border expansion.
- Prepare and deliver client pitches, strategic reviews and industry analyses.
Sector Expertise
Develop deep understanding of APAC financial institutions, including:
- Banks
- Insurance companies
- Wealth and asset managers
- Fintech platforms
- Payments companies
- Consumer finance businesses
- Specialty lenders
- Market infrastructure providers
Monitor sector trends, competitive dynamics and regulatory developments impacting the financial services industry.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor Analysts and Associates.
- Review financial models, valuation outputs and transaction materials prepared by junior team members.
- Drive execution quality and maintain high standards across client deliverables.
- Contribute to recruitment, training and talent development initiatives.
Requirements
Experience
7 to 12 years of relevant experience within:
- Investment Banking M&A
- Corporate Finance Advisory
- FIG Advisory
- Financial Sponsors Coverage with strong M&A exposure
Demonstrated track record executing cross-border M&A transactions across APAC.
Strong understanding of financial institutions business models and valuation methodologies.
