Job Description
The Special Projects department is responsible for Main Component Exchanges (MCE), the implementation of large-scale upgrade campaigns, and complex blade services across Vestas wind farms in the APAC region. You will be part of a highly motivated, regional team of project managers, coordinators, AT Supervisors and site managers working to the absolute highest safety and environmental standards. In this dynamic offshore environment, we collaborate closely to solve complex technical challenges, meet project targets, and directly contribute to a greener world with one of the leading companies in wind energy.
Responsibilities
. Direct and supervise all daily lifting operations on-site, ensuring absolute adherence to the approved Lifting Plan and Method Statements.
. Review lifting plans in advance and closely align with the Lifting Appointed Person (AP) to ensure designs and rigging configurations perfectly match actual site constraints before execution.. Lead daily Toolbox Talks and pre-lift briefings with crane operators and riggers. Establish and maintain strict exclusion zones during all lifts.
. Closely monitor real-time weather and wind speed conditions, exercising strict Stop-Work Authority if parameters exceed safe limits for specific components.
. Verify that all cranes, lifting equipment and specialized yokes have valid certification, are inspected daily, and are fit for purpose.
. Act as the primary on-site liaison between the Appointed Person, the rigging crew, third-party crane vendors, and site management team.
. Maintain accurate daily lifting logs, equipment registers, and timesheet verifications for lifting services.
. After the end of each rotation, the Lifting Supervisor must provide a comprehensive briefing for his back-to-back.
Qualifications
. Experience in the wind industry. Full GWO training package is expected.
. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in heavy lifting operations within or outside of wind industry.
Competencies
. Hold a technical education (mechanical/electrical) combined with WTG experience
. Have experience working with electrical/hydraulic diagrams. You are highly quality and safety focused and possess a continuous improvement mindset
. Work well with others and can guide and act as an effective motivator and facilitator of the team.
. Fluency in English in speaking and writing.
. A good level of computer literacy, used to software, apps and related system.
