Our client is a large, established Hong Kong-listed corporate group with diversified business interests spanning property development, property management, commercial operations, and related investment activities. To support its Hong Kong operations, the group is now looking for a seasoned legal professional to take on a managerial position within its Legal function.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a core legal contact for the business, delivering ongoing legal support across Hong Kong operations with emphasis on property‑related and commercial matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide spectrum of legal documentation, including development, construction, leasing, and general commercial agreements
- Identify legal and commercial risks and provide pragmatic advice to minimise exposure while supporting business objectives
- Ensure business activities remain aligned with Hong Kong legal, regulatory, and governmental requirements
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders and liaise with external legal advisors and relevant authorities on legal issues and disputes
- Manage and oversee litigation, claims, and other legal actions handled by external counsel when required
- Assist with due diligence exercises and support legal aspects of property and business acquisitions or disposals
- Advise on intellectual property matters and manage the maintenance and renewal of IP rights arising from operations
- Track and analyse legal and regulatory developments impacting property and related industries and communicate implications to the business
- Supervise and guide a small team of legal support staff, ensuring efficient workflows and timely delivery of legal support
Candidate Requirements
- Hong Kong qualified solicitor with at least eight years of post‑qualification experience, gained through in‑house roles and/or established law firms
- Proven hands‑on experience advising on Hong Kong real estate law with direct first‑hand sales legal experience, supplemented by solid exposure to general commercial matters
- Strong practical understanding of Hong Kong statutory, regulatory, and governmental frameworks
- Demonstrated excellence in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal evaluation
- Capable of working autonomously while effectively prioritising and managing multiple workstreams
- Excellent stakeholder‑management abilities with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fully fluent in English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Mandarin
- Applicants with deeper experience and people‑management exposure may be considered for appointment as Senior Legal Counsel
