Job description
A prominent Hong Kong-based enterprise with a long-standing presence in the property sector is seeking a Legal Counsel with strong expertise in commercial legal matters. As the organization continues to expand its footprint across Asia-Pacific and other key international markets, this role offers the opportunity to support a diverse range of business initiatives and strategic transactions.
The position sits within a fully resourced legal department, comprising a team of experienced lawyers and dedicated support staff. The team is recognized for its pragmatic, business-oriented approach and collaborative culture, working closely with stakeholders across the organization to deliver commercially sound legal solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic legal advice across a wide range of commercial matters, including commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and operational initiatives
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements, vendor arrangements, and partnership deals
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify legal risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business and deliver training or updates to internal teams
Manage relationships with external counsel on specialized matters as needed
Support cross-functional legal projects
Who You Are:
A qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or a recognized Commonwealth jurisdiction
Minimum 7 years PQE, with solid experience in commercial law, prior exposure to the property sector is highly advantageous
Prior in-house legal experience is required, with a proven ability to navigate complex business environments
Fluent in English and Cantonese with proficiency in Mandarin preferred
Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
Proactive, adaptable, and confident in providing legal guidance across diverse business functions
