Role: Legal Counsel
Location: Taipei, Taiwan
We are partnering with a leading renewable energy company that is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Taiwan team. In this role, you will provide legal, commercial, and strategic support for a substantial portfolio of solar assets. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and report directly to the Regional HQ in Singapore and the General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Planning & Execution: Collaborate with JV partners on permits, construction, land, and financing; manage internal approvals; participate in JV Steering Committee meetings.
- Legal & Contracts: Advise on corporate structures; review project agreements; oversee dataroom organization.
- Corporate Governance: Advise directors in the JV&aposs project; manage company and legal representative stamps in line with internal approvals.
- Risk & Communication: Monitor asset performance and risks; resolve issues with JV partners; prepare risk memos and mitigation strategies; provide timely risk reporting.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of project development and operational legal experience, preferably with some M&A exposure.
- Candidates with experience in renewable energy or infrastructure are strongly preferred
- Strong contractual knowledge with proven experience reviewing and managing project agreements, land leases, and permits.
- Qualified to practice law in Taiwan, with strong practical experience.
