Responsibilities:
- Handling all Commercial Legal matters in the APAC Region, for all business unites, by interacting directly with internal stakeholders (i.e. Legal team members, commercial teams, tax, finance, etc.) and with externals (i.e. external lawyers, suppliers, clients, etc.) to help deliver on the business objectives of the company.
- Provide active support on contract requirements by the Sourcing and Sales teams by reviewing, drafting and negotiating all type of commercial agreements in order to document properly the relationship, obligations and responsibilities between HBX and external parties.
- Provide relevant legal education to the commercial teams in a variety of legal topics through trainings or material sharing to alert them on these legal topics that may have an impact on their strategies, objectives and regular interaction with external partners.
- Act as Legal lead in Strategic Key Projects for the APAC Region, to provide early guidance on legal implications, requirements, and risk assessments.
- To review and reshape the current ways of working aligning with the fast-paced & evolving environment of HBX, by improving, simplifying, and designing HBX contract templates, guidelines, and scalable processes/protocols jointly with relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with other Legal teams and support on Litigation, Insurance, Compliance related matters in the APAC Region.
Skills and experience:
- Bachelor of Laws
- 4+ years of relevant experience
- Previous experience in hospitality industry would be a plus
- Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating Chinese legal contracts (e.g., commercial agreements, NDAs, service agreements).
- Native-level or advanced proficiency in written Chinese, including legal terminology.
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
- Quick learner and collaborative mind to be able to solve out tasks effectively and in the shortest time possible
- Be able to work under pressure with strict deadlines and ability to prioritize the tasks
- Understanding of the cultural diversity
