Purpose of this Position
As a mechanical Lead HW Design Engineer, this role focuses on developing robust mechanical designs and contributing to product development through engineering expertise and cross-functional collaboration. The position plays a key role in integrating mechanical design within the overall product and contributes to improving development efficiency through technical knowledge and experience.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Lead mechanical design throughout the product development cycle from concept to mass production.
- Cooperate with cross-functional teams to align mechanical design with overall product requirements.
- Analyze technical issues, identify root causes, and resolve design problems.
- Evaluate design feasibility and identify potential risks during early product definition.
- Drive mechanical design execution to meet project schedule and development milestones.
- Lead mechanical technology development projects, coordinating tasks and resources to ensure execution.
- Organize and maintain engineering knowledge and technical documentation to enable knowledge accumulation and improve development efficiency.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Education: B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Professional Certificates/Licenses:
- Proficient in 3D modeling and 2D drawing tools (PTC Creo)
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on mechanical design, including stamping, die casting, aluminum extrusion, and injection molding
- Solid understanding of product development and production processes from concept to mass production.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in the consumer/industrial electronics industry
- Experience in delivering mechanical designs from concept to mass production across multiple product development projects as a lead engineer.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in 3D modeling and 2D drawing tools (PTC Creo)
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on mechanical design, including stamping, die casting, aluminum extrusion, and injection molding
- Solid understanding of product development and production processes from concept to mass production.
- Language: Above average skills in English/Mandarin literacy
