Your Impact

You will be serving clients in a transformation leader capacity, coaching them along their multi-year transformation journey.

You will operate as part of an engagement team, typically consisting of a team of 2-5 consultants led by an engagement manager. Together you will drive the day-to-day execution of a transformation effort to help clients achieve new performance highs in their business.

You will apply the McKinsey Transformation (MT) recipe of leveraging a holistic, execution-centric approach, in addition to integrating the best of the firm. This means you will primarily be working with clients to set-up and execute a best-in-class Transformation Office and the related Performance Infrastructure. You will deploy a standard cadence as well as MT's transformation management tool (Wave) and various assets/ solutions critical to a transformation spanning across organization health, capability building, digital, etc. Your work will be conducted across 3 standard phases: independent diligence phase (6-8 weeks), bottom-up phase (6-8 weeks) and implementation (12+ months).

You'll be based in Taipei office and will be part of the McKinsey Transformation (MT) team in Greater China, primarily focused on the Transformation Office (TO). This is the heart of the MT methodology that orchestrates all client and McKinsey activity to set the pace, the tone and to drive the transformation.

You are joining a collaborative team of seasoned professionals, hailing from diverse backgrounds such as industry, private equity, and the restructuring ecosystem, working together with our global network of industry and functional experts. You will join a team of dedicated MT consultants, complemented by consultants with deep industry and functional expertise within our global network. Your role transcends traditional restructuring – it's about contributing to success stories and fostering positive change on a grand scale.

Your Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree or MBA is a plus
  • 3+ years of work experience in driving operational turnarounds and/or accelerated growth initiatives spanning critical strategic, revenue, cost, and working capital levers
  • Ability to understand financial and operating levers (e.g. business plan modelling) is a must
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytical and conceptual problem solving; comfort with quantitative analysis and managerial accounting
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive thinking about potential improvements to how things are done; highly pragmatic, focused on achieving outcomes and impact
  • Detail oriented and with the ability to work under pressure; mentally resilient to sustain the journey
  • Cooperative personality; ability to work with and coach effectively in a diverse group of team members
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, verbally and in writing, both in English and Chinese
