Job Summary:
You'll be part of the core underwriting team at BlueX, responsible for assessing and managing credit risk for our SME clients. This team is essential to BlueX's financial products, working across departments to design risk-based frameworks that support growth while protecting capital.
You won't just be reviewing spreadsheetsyou'll play a key role in building scalable credit processes, leveraging data to make smart decisions, and helping BlueX expand globally through responsible credit underwriting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and continuously improve day-to-day financial and underwriting operations to enhance both speed and control across our processes and procedures.
- Review and validate Pay-it-Later (Invoice Financing) and Get-Paid-Faster (Accounts Receivable Factoring) applications submitted by BlueX customers.
- Conduct financial statement analysis and KYC/KYB due diligence
- Evaluate customer creditworthiness based on internal models and third-party data.
- Monitor ongoing credit risk and maintain updated customer profiles (financials, UCC filings, trade insurance, legal agreements etc).
- Help improve internal tools, risk controls, and documentation for scale.
- Contribute to new credit policy creation and global expansion strategies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, Data, Marketing and Legal team to optimize the BlueX product and operations workflow.
- Assist with other tasks assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- 13 years of experience in credit analysis, underwriting, lending, or payments.
- Familiarity with trade finance, supply chain finance, AR factoring, or SME lending is a strong plus.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural, startup environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English (reading/writing required; speaking preferred).
- Comfortable with cross-functional collaboration and process building.
- Ability to respond to, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines while maintaining the highest of standards of completeness and accuracy.
