Job Description

Job Responsibility

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage and maintain acer global IT's databases, ensuring data security, system availability, and optimal performance. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of administrating large enterprise DB and will be responsible for ensuring the DBA team's effectiveness in supporting the acer database infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute DB policies for managing and maintaining the acer's databases, ensuring data security, system availability, and optimal performance. Improve and optimize the policy.
  • Plan and execute database installation, upgrades, backups, and recovery operations.
  • Develop and implement database security mechanisms.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance through parameter tuning, performance analysis, and other techniques.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database problems in a timely manner, and perform root cause analysis to prevent future incidents.
  • Demonstrate leadership to the DBA team, set objectives, and ensure that team members are equipped with the necessary skills to carry out their duties effectively.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that database design and coding align with industry standards and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the database field and make recommendations on their adoption.

Requirements


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing and maintaining databases, the experience leading a team of DBAs is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Oracle database management is a must, and experience with other databases such as MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified Expert/Associate (MCE/MCA) are preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with Nagios, Maxgauge, and Imperva, and other relevant monitoring and auditing tools.
  • Proven ability to improve SLA, standardize processes, and automate tasks.
