About the Role
We're looking for a security leader who can own the full spectrum of our organization's cyber defense - from setting strategy to getting hands-on when it matters.
What You'll Do
- Set the direction for our security function, building and maintaining the policies, standards, and roadmaps that keep the organization protected while supporting broader business goals.
- Regularly stress-test our environment: reviewing how well existing systems hold up against new and evolving threats, and running vulnerability assessments and penetration tests across critical infrastructure.
- Own incident response end-to-end - from monitoring and triaging alerts through to full investigations, root-cause analysis, and driving the fixes that prevent recurrence.
- Build a security-conscious culture across the company through training, phishing simulations, and response drills that keep the team sharp.
- Work hand-in-hand with project and engineering teams from the earliest stages of development, embedding the right security controls before issues become problems.
- Team up with governance and technology counterparts to continuously monitor and improve the organization's overall security posture.
- Evolve how we assess and treat risk - refining our methodology and shaping mitigation strategies based on what reviews and audits uncover.
What You'll Bring
- A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline, paired with 8-10 years of hands-on experience in information and cyber security.
- Solid grounding in cloud security (AWS, Azure, SaaS environments) and working knowledge of the frameworks and standards that guide good security practice - think NIST, ISO 27001, secure-by-design principles, and data protection regulations. Bonus points for familiarity with government security guidelines or payment industry standards.
- A track record of stepping up - someone who takes ownership of hard problems even when they fall outside the formal job description.
- Comfort juggling multiple priorities at once without losing focus, even when deadlines and demands compete for attention.
