Key Responsibilities
1. IT Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the corporate IT roadmap aligned with long-term business objectives and digital transformation priorities.
- Translate business requirements into practical system architecture, technology investments, and implementation plans.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI, automation, cloud, and enterprise platforms.
- Manage IT budgets, vendors, projects, risks, and technology investments based on business value and ROI.
- Lead and develop a lean, technically capable IT team.
2. Hands-on Technical Leadership
- Actively participate in technical analysis, troubleshooting, architecture design, and problem resolution rather than relying solely on vendors or team members.
- Diagnose complex issues across applications, databases, infrastructure, networks, and system integrations.
- Review technical designs, source code, SQL, APIs, system logs, and infrastructure configurations when required.
- Provide technical direction and make critical decisions during system outages, integration failures, security incidents, and major projects.
3. SAP ERP Management & Optimization
- Lead the operation, support, optimization, and future development of the SAP ERP environment.
- Understand integration across major SAP business processes and core modules such as SD, MM, PP, FI/CO, QM, and related functions.
- Lead SAP upgrades, system integrations, interface development, and continuous process improvement.
- Troubleshoot SAP-related integration and data issues with internal teams and external consultants.
- Ensure SAP architecture supports integration with other enterprise platforms.
4. Enterprise Application Development & System Architecture
- Lead the architecture, development, integration, and maintenance of internal enterprise applications.
- Possess practical development experience using ASP.NET, C#, Visual Studio, and MS SQL Server.
- Be capable of reviewing, troubleshooting, and modifying application code when required.
- Design and review database structures, queries, stored procedures, and system interfaces.
- Design and implement REST APIs / Web APIs and system-to-system integrations.
- Establish development standards covering source control, testing, deployment, documentation, security, and change management.
- Evaluate whether solutions should be developed internally, outsourced, or implemented through commercial platforms.
5. MES / WMS / QMS & Manufacturing Systems
- Lead or actively participate in the implementation and integration of MES, WMS, and QMS.
- Understand manufacturing processes and the data flow between shop-floor systems and SAP.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Planning, Finance, and other business functions to translate operational requirements into system solutions.
- Troubleshoot interface, master-data, transaction, and integration issues across manufacturing systems.
6. Infrastructure & Virtualization
- Oversee and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure while retaining sufficient hands-on capability to troubleshoot critical issues.
- Manage or provide technical oversight for main servers.
- Plan infrastructure capacity, lifecycle upgrades, high availability, and performance optimization.
7. Cybersecurity & Business Continuity
- Develop and maintain the company's cybersecurity architecture, policies, controls, and incident-response capabilities.
- Lead technical investigation and response during cybersecurity incidents.
- Develop and regularly validate Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BCP) plans.
- Ensure IT controls support applicable corporate, customer, and regulatory compliance requirements.
8. Data, BI & Integration
- Lead enterprise data integration and reporting initiatives.
- Possess strong working knowledge of MS SQL Server and SQL, including complex queries, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Lead Power BI architecture, data modeling, dashboard development, and governance.
- Establish reliable data flows between SAP, MES/WMS/QMS, PLM, CRM, and other enterprise systems.
- Support the evolution toward API-based integration, automation, and AI-ready enterprise data architecture.
9. Global IT Operations
- Ensure high availability, reliability, security, and performance of corporate IT services.
- Coordinate IT initiatives across Taiwan, China, and international locations.
- Act as the primary technical liaison with global stakeholders, vendors, consultants, and corporate IT teams.
- Establish IT operational standards, documentation, monitoring, change management, and incident-management processes.
10. Team & Vendor Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop IT team members while maintaining personal technical involvement.
- Establish clear ownership and technical standards across applications, infrastructure, security, and development.
- Manage external vendors and consultants and independently validate their technical recommendations.
- Ensure critical technical knowledge remains within the company rather than becoming fully dependent on external vendors.
