Job Description:
The Investment Operations Manager will report to Chief Operating Officer and be responsible to oversee the middle office functions, with a particular focus on performance attribution. This includes ensuring accurate and timely processing of investment transactions, performance measurement, and risk management.
Duties and responsibilities
Manage and supervise the daily middle office operations, including:
- Trade processing and settlement
- Reconciliations
- Performance measurement and attribution
- Risk analytics
Develop and implement best practices for middle office operations
Collaborate with front office, back office, and external service providers
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
Participate in system enhancement project and other ad-hoc exercises.
Provide guidance to team members on daily routines.
Handle ad-hoc enquiries from internal and external parties regarding middle office matters.
Requirement
Degree(s) holder in Accounting, Finance or Financial Engineering. CFA or CIPM will be an advantage.
10 years relevant working experience in either MPF or asset management industry
Solid experience in middle office operations
Solid experience in performance measurement and attribution methodologies
Familiar with both investment and operational risk management processes and the relevant regulatory framework
Responsible, pro-active and reliable
Attention to details, high conscientiousness, can-do attitude
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Proficiency in asset management systems (e.g. Bloomberg, Morningstar)
Proficiency in Excel/Python
Good communication skills in English and Chinese, both spoken and written
