Job Description
【Job Overview】
The Assembly Automation Process Engineer is responsible for fixtures and methods to: build engineering samples, do proof of principle of assembly methods, execute tests to define critical process parameters and ensure that device designs are fit for high volume production.
【Main Responsibilities】
- Review device designs for manufacturability (Design For Assembly) and design/evaluate improvements.
- Design fixtures and methods to reproduce critical steps of the assembly process on benchtop lab equipment and to produce engineering samples on Robot pilot line.
- Ensure that specifications are correct, complete, feasible and efficient.
- Identify variables in a device and how these variables occur in the manufacturing process.
- Assess the criticality of these variables based on device function and manufacturing capabilities.
- Plan tests to find the limits of critical variables.
- Execute tests with minimal operator influence and maintained traceability.
- Document results from tests.
- Proof of concept testing.
- Support development of process control strategy.
- Support vendors on building commercial assembly equipment.
【Skills & Qualifications】
- Knowledge/Understanding of the following is a must:
- - CAD tools and mechanical engineering
- - Basic Written and Spoken English
- Basic Knowledge/Understanding of the following is a plus:
- - Word, Excel and Minitab
- - SolidWorks
- - Programming (FANUC Robots, PLC - ST/TwinCAT, Python, Web development)
【Language skills】
- Conversational English is required.
- Mandarin or another language is a plus.
