IEAP - (Senior) Assembly Automation Process Engineer

【Job Overview】

The Assembly Automation Process Engineer is responsible for fixtures and methods to: build engineering samples, do proof of principle of assembly methods, execute tests to define critical process parameters and ensure that device designs are fit for high volume production.

【Main Responsibilities】

• Review device designs for manufacturability (Design For Assembly) and design/evaluate improvements.
• Design fixtures and methods to reproduce critical steps of the assembly process on benchtop lab equipment and to produce engineering samples on Robot pilot line.
• Ensure that specifications are correct, complete, feasible and efficient.
• Identify variables in a device and how these variables occur in the manufacturing process.
• Assess the criticality of these variables based on device function and manufacturing capabilities.
• Plan tests to find the limits of critical variables.
• Execute tests with minimal operator influence and maintained traceability.
• Document results from tests.
• Proof of concept testing.
• Support development of process control strategy.
• Support vendors on building commercial assembly equipment.

【Skills & Qualifications】

• Knowledge/Understanding of the following is a must:
• - CAD tools and mechanical engineering
• - Basic Written and Spoken English

• Basic Knowledge/Understanding of the following is a plus:
• - Word, Excel and Minitab
• - SolidWorks
• - Programming (FANUC Robots, PLC - ST/TwinCAT, Python, Web development)

【Language skills】

• Conversational English is required.
• Mandarin or another language is a plus.
