Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Graduate IBM Z Platform Consultant, you'll join client delivery teams and learn how end-to-end IBM Z environments are designed, implemented, and operated. You'll work alongside experienced consultants and progressively take ownership of tasks across the platform.
You Will
Required technical and professional expertise
Support delivery of IBM Z client engagements spanning hardware, z/OS, and platform services
Assist with installation, configuration, upgrades, and health checks under guidance
Learn how IBM Z systems are designed (capacity, logical partitions, availability, performance)
Help with documentation, run books, implementation plans, and post-engagement reporting
Participate in troubleshooting activities and learn structured problem-solving methods
Build confidence presenting findings and communicating clearly with clients and internal teams
Rotate across related areas (e.g., platform, availability, storage, resiliency) to build breadth
What You'll Learn (and Be Supported To Learn)
Over time you'll build skills across areas such as:
IBM Z platform fundamentals and architecture concepts
z/OS basics and common operational tools
Safe delivery practices in live production environments
High availability, backup, replication, and recovery concepts
Consulting skills: client communication, delivery planning, and stakeholder management
No prior IBM Z experience is required. Curiosity, discipline, and the ability to learn quickly matter most.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or similar
Required Technical And Professional Skills

- Strong communicators (written and verbal)
- Curious, coachable, and motivated to learn complex systems
- Comfortable working through ambiguity with guidance
- Organised and reliable, with attention to detail
- Familiar with basic technical concepts (operating systems, networking, scripting fundamentals)
Preferred (Bonus) Experience
- Exposure to IBM Z or mainframe concepts through study or personal interest
- Familiarity with Linux, Windows, or virtualization
- Introductory programming or scripting experience
- Interest in infrastructure platforms, resiliency, and large-scale systems
