Job Description

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as an HR Generalist. This position will be located in Taipei, Taiwan.

Summary:

An HR Generalist manages a range of HR functions across multiple regions or divisions, ensuring alignment with both global business goals and local labor laws. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and compliance with regional regulations. They will be a representative for employees in HR processes, policies, and practices, as well as, contributing to a positive work environment and serving as a trust peer to managers and employees. They also support mobility programs, cross-cultural training, and organizational development initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the Director, HRBP/International HR, manages and implements HR processes and policies within the regions they support including recruitment, employee onboarding and offboarding, benefits enrollment, and the employee experience for employees in multiple regions.
  • Facilitates the logistics of onboarding new hires, including preparing work documents, benefit guides, and company policies tailored to regional laws while owning the employee experience.
  • Within locations outside of the U.S., support the full-cycle recruitment process for regional/ business teams, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer management. Understand country-specific recruiting laws and guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Act as an advisor to the Director, HRBP/International HR, as needed, in designing competitive, region-specific compensation packages and benefits offerings, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee rewards. Help ensure benefits compliance across various jurisdictions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance on conflict resolution, workplace issues, and employee concerns. Help manage employee engagement programs to promote productivity, retention, and satisfaction.
  • Ensure HR operations in non-U.S. markets comply with local labor laws. Provide insights into the legal and regulatory frameworks for labor relations, if applicable, in different regions and assist with monitoring regulatory changes in various countries and flagging potential compliance risks.
  • Manage the logistics of relocations, including visa and immigration processes. Advise employees on relocation packages and ensure a smooth transition for assignees.
  • Support the development and implementation of training programs aimed at increasing cross-cultural awareness, leadership development, and skill-building for international teams.
  • Work in partnership with HR teams in different regions to share best practices, solve common challenges, and align global HR strategies with local needs.
  • Manage required personnel documentation related to employment contracts, contract amendments, disciplinary proceedings, and grievances.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the company's HR practices, policies, employment contracts and handbooks are in line with local labor laws and regulations, including statutory requirements, leaves, and eligibility to work rules.
  • Maintain employee records, ensuring that the data is up-to-date and compliant with local privacy regulations. Assist in the preparation of reports on HR metrics, including headcount, turnover, and employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Manage the relationship between Employers of Record (EORs) and those employees who are employed via an EOR, creating an inclusive environment for these individuals and a sense of belonging.
  • Assist in understanding and addressing the cultural nuances within the workplace, supporting HR programs that promote a respectful and inclusive environment.
  • Build and maintain community relations on behalf of the company, representing the company at local community events and organizations.
  • Other duties or tasks, as assigned by his/her manager.

Education & Credentials:


  • 4+ years of solid, relevant human resources generalist experience
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, psychology, business, communication, or closely related field is strongly preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience will be considered.
  • Experience managing a full employee lifecycle and owning a positive employee experience.

Working Hours: A 40-hour work week with the standard working hours are usually 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday to Friday with a 1-hour lunch break, but this can vary depending on the company need.

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time with a 6 month probation period of 6 months

Compensation

Base pay for this role is between NT 1,118,000 and NT 1,342,000 annually. Base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
