Job Description

The Head of Retail leads RHINOSHIELD's retail strategy, overseeing current operations in Taiwan and driving expansion into international markets. This role is accountable for overall retail performance, operational excellence, and building a scalable organization that consistently delivers a premium customer experience. The Head of Retail works cross-functionally to align retail growth with brand, product, and commercial strategies. The job location can be located in Taipei or Taichung.

General Responsibilities

Retail Strategy & Market Expansion:

  1. Define and execute the retail expansion strategy, including market prioritization, feasibility studies, business models, and store rollout plans.
  2. Build a scalable retail ecosystem that enables a consistent brand experience across markets.
  3. Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, customer insights, and retail innovation to identify new opportunities.
  4. Lead business development efforts for new store expansion, including commercial negotiations with landlords, shopping malls, and department stores.
  5. Oversee site selection, commercial evaluation, rental negotiations, and cross-functional alignment for new store openings.

Retail Operations & Performance Management:

  1. Set strategic targets and drive financial performance.
  2. Build unified retail standardsoperations, service, inventory, loss prevention, training, and compliance.
  3. Establish data-driven retail management: KPI governance, productivity models, forecasting, and performance analytics.
  4. Ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement across.

Customer Experience & Brand Execution

  1. Define in-store customer experience standards and service principles.
  2. Collaborate with Brand and Design Teams on store design, layout, and visual merchandising guidelines.
  3. Ensure alignment with overall brand direction across all store touchpoints.
  4. Coordinate with digital/e-commerce teams on omni-channel alignment.

Leadership Responsibilities

  1. Lead, coach, and grow the retail management team (Area Managers, Store Managers, Retail Operations, Training).
  2. Build organizational capabilities required for multi-market expansion and long-term retail growth.
  3. Foster a high-performance and customer-centric retail culture.

Functional skills and knowledge

  1. Ability to develop retail strategy, assess new markets, and build scalable store models.
  2. Strong command of store operations, KPI management, and P&L ownership.
  3. Experience in retail business development, including site selection, commercial negotiations, and partnerships with malls or department stores.

Soft skills

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.

Work experience

  • 10+ years of overall retail channel experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
