Head of Investment Office
Core Purpose
To drive institutional-level investment strategy, oversee bespoke asset allocation, and manage performance risk for ultra-wealthy individuals, family offices, and institutional clients. This involves synthesizing top-down macro views with bottom-up security analysis to generate long-term, resilient alpha.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Asset Allocation: Design endowment-style, multi-asset portfolios aligned with strict wealth preservation and steady growth targets.
- Thought Leadership & Insights: Analyze structural market trends, provide thematic insights (e.g., sustainability, Supertrends), and translate economic indicators into tactical portfolio adjustments
- Investment Committee Leadership: Spearhead the bank's local or regional Investment Committee to validate investment governance and approve model portfolios.
- Customized Solutions: Oversee the development of CIO Lab capabilities or tailored portfolio diagnostics to map out complete client risk parameters.
- Manager & Deal Sourcing: Evaluate, monitor, and negotiate mandates with external fund managers, private equity partners, and direct/co-investment opportunities.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner directly with UHNW Private Bankers, Wealth Advisors, and Product Specialists to pitch and execute integrated, holistic wealth solutions.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Education & Credentials: Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or Business; CFA, CAIA, or FRM designations highly preferred.
- Experience: 12–15+ years of senior-level experience in private banking, asset management, or managing a large-scale family office investment portfolio.
- Market Knowledge: Deep technical expertise across public and private markets, alternatives, structured credit, and multi-asset classes.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex wealth and market strategies clearly to C-suite executives and UHNW families
