The Department Head is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational efficiency of the department, ensuring alignment with company and team's goals. This role involves leading a team of professionals, managing key client relationships, and driving business growth through innovative strategies and effective execution.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement the department's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the company's overall objectives.
- Communicate with regional HO regarding team's business plan, resources needed, etc.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key institutional clients, including pension funds, insurance companies, and asset management firms.
- Ensure efficient and effective department operations, adhering to established procedures and guidelines.
- Work closely with other departments such as Investment, Product Development, Operations, Risk, and Legal to enhance service delivery and product offerings.
- Regularly review and assess the department's performance, implementing improvements, as necessary.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions. Drive cross-function teams to continuously enhance service quality to the key insurance client.
Qualifications And Experience
- Over 15 years of experience in the financial industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience of winning government mandate is a must. A university degree is essential; an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, MBA) is preferred.
- Deep understanding of investment products, markets, and industry dynamics. Proficient in Mandarin and fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
